Ceuta provides swine flu help - 26/08/2009
Bournemouth based, Ceuta Healthcare, Europe’s leading outsourcing company in the health and beauty industry, has recently sold out of certain types of thermometer, with 27,000 being dispatched in the UK in the last two weeks alone.
This is due to the sudden influx of people believing they have suspected swine flu. The company is also helping to combat the spread of the infectious disease through their sale of antibacterial hand gels.
The increase in thermometer sales is mainly due to the NHS’s dedicated website where people are being encouraged to check their temperatures. The symptoms of swine flu include a sudden fever and a sudden cough. If people are unsure of how to use a thermometer then the website also has a guideline section named ‘how to take someone’s temperature’.
Confirmed in the UK earlier in the year, swine flu has spread to more than 100 countries around the world. Since arriving on our shores, “catch it, bin it, kill it” has become a familiar mantra. Ceuta is selling a hand gel which can help to prevent this new scenario through helping to combat the spread of bacteria. It is particularly important for people to wash their hands as it is a highly contagious disease which spreads very quickly.
Annette D'Abreo, Deputy Managing Director at Ceuta Healthcare, commented:
“We have been overwhelmed with the demand for thermometers and hand gels. People don’t seem to have digital thermometers at home, or they have the old mercury thermometers. We are currently shipping in more products in order to meet a further anticipated surge in demand in the Autumn.
